Terms of service.

The basics of using Sophie, in plain English.

Effective September 29, 2026.

The agreement

Sophie is a private tutor built for families, operated by Revyze ("we", "us"). These terms are the agreement between you and us. You accept them when you create an account or use Sophie. If you don't agree with them, please don't use the service. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your family's data and is part of this agreement.

Who can use Sophie

A parent or guardian who is 18 or older creates and manages the family account. Students use Sophie with that parent's permission and oversight, and must be 13 or older. The parent is responsible for how the account is used, including by their child. A student who signs in with their own login also agrees to these terms, with their parent's permission.

Your account

You sign in with a Google or Apple account. Keep it secure and don't share your login. Each person uses their own login. Tell us right away if you think someone else is using your account.

What Sophie is, and isn't

Sophie helps a student understand their own schoolwork, step by step. She is an AI, and she can make mistakes. She doesn't replace a teacher or a school, and we don't promise grades, test scores, or any particular outcome. Check work that matters, and follow your school's rules on getting help. Sophie is not a source of medical, legal, or emergency help.

Sophie is early

Sophie is a new product and will keep changing. We may add, change, pause, or remove features, and the service may sometimes be unavailable. We'll do our best to warn you about changes that affect you.

Acceptable use

Please use Sophie for genuine learning. Don't:

  • Use it to do something harmful, abusive, or against the law.
  • Try to break, overload, or get around the service's limits or protections.
  • Copy, scrape, or reverse-engineer Sophie or its content.
  • Pretend to be someone else or use another person's login.

We may pause or close accounts that do.

Your content

The work a student shows Sophie, the paper on the desk, the screen they share, and the questions they ask stay the family's. You give us permission to use that content to run Sophie: to process it, store it, show it to the parent, build recaps, and improve how Sophie teaches. You choose when to turn on the camera or screen sharing, and what to show.

Fees

Sophie is sold in packs of hours. Each pack is for one student, and you see the price before you pay. A session uses the student's hours in 5-minute steps, rounded down, and never more than 30 minutes: a 17-minute session uses 15, a 45-minute session uses 30, and a session under 5 minutes is free. It never uses more than the student has left. Hours don't expire. Stripe processes the payments.

A student's first pack comes with a free phone tripod, shipped to a US address you give at checkout.

Satisfied or your money back. If you're not happy with a pack, email hello@revyze.fr and we'll refund it in full, as long as the student has used no more than half of its hours. The hours left from that pack are removed when we refund it.

Ending the agreement

You can stop using Sophie at any time and ask us to delete your family's data. We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, or if we discontinue the service, and we'll give you notice when we reasonably can.

Limits on our responsibility

Sophie is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or one hundred US dollars if you paid nothing. Nothing in these terms limits rights that the law says can't be limited.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of France, and any dispute goes to the courts of Paris, except where the law of the place you live gives you protections that can't be waived.

Changes to these terms

When we change these terms in a way that matters, we'll update the date above and ask you to accept them again before you continue.
